Bookmaking Breakfast 2010
The art of bookmaking: what a great way to spend a cold Saturday morning over winter break. After a lite continental breakfast, Professor Gwen Amos demonstrated how to make an accordion-spine book. Using different papers and prints, each book is as unique as the person making it. At the end of the workshop, GRIDS gave away a Utrecht Art gift certificate. Congratulations to Michael Shores, lucky guy. We all had a blast and have our creative juices flowing!

Full Circle Press Tour 2009
Full Circle Press welcomed GRIDS again for another amazing tour of their letter press studio! When we arrived Judith was in the middle of a print job and she welcomed us with her renown hospitality. We were shown the printing process, from the digital files to negatives to plates to printing and even die cutting. Thanks Full Circle Press for the cookies, print samples and your precious time! We really appreciate the advise and knowledge shared today.

Tues/Thurs Cohort Orientation 2009
As part of welcoming the Junior class aboard, both the Seniors and Juniors formed teams to tackle a fun creative project. The objective was to build a paper structure as tall as possible with limited supplies. We had tons of fun and both cohorts learned a lot from each other.

This was the last portfolio review workshop GRIDS hosted before the students submitted their portfolios. GRIDS is always happy to encourage pre-graphics majors and provided critique sessions during the spring semester.
